Clima

Since bathing weather already prevails on the coasts in April and October, it is advisable for heat-sensitive people to avoid the months of July and August. In the coastal regions, winters are also mild, frost is rare. Sardinia is therefore also suitable for winter holidays. In the Cagliari region, the average monthly temperature in January is around 12-13 °C, with around seven rainy days. This corresponds to a maximum daily temperature of almost 20 °C.

In the north, however, heavy rain showers can occasionally occur, and while frost is not to be expected in the coastal regions even in winter, temperatures in the interior also fall below zero degrees and the mountains are covered with snow – there are even some ski lifts in Sardinia, such as in Fonni! The best time to travel is certainly May, because you can already swim in the sheltered coves of Torre delle Stelle, the sun is already intense without being relentless, the fields and meadows of the surrounding countryside are fresh and green from the April rain. True carpets of flowers in all colors cover the slopes, the chamomile and the broom are in full bloom.

Those traveling with children should prefer the months of September and October, as the average daytime temperature is still 26 °C, the beaches are not very frequented and the sea water – warmed up by the summer – still has wonderful average values of 22 °C.
